Founded in 2017 by Owners David and Julia Redding, Goodfire Brewing began as a passion project that quickly evolved into an obsession. Today, Goodfire boasts tasting rooms in Portland and Freeport, Maine, renowned for their soft, unfiltered New England IPAs and backed by a team of brewing experts.

With a vision to establish a presence in Freeport's thriving food and beer scene, Goodfire enlisted the expertise of M.W. Hoss to redevelop and expand a former restaurant into a new 5,000 square-foot tasting room and kitchen. Collaborating closely with long-time architecture partner Ryan Senator, the M.W. Hoss team executed selective demolition and expanded the footprint through meticulous excavation, framing, and roofing.

The project entailed extensive kitchen upgrades, requiring detailed planning from procurement to delivery, as well as significant replacements of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The new space features polished concrete floors, a copper flashback centerpiece, and muraled and wood accent walls, offering a uniquely custom ambiance.

Outside, custom fencing and a new 3,000 square-foot hardscape patio, completed by the M.W. Hoss team, enhance the exterior aesthetics. With a capacity for over 150 people, the expanded space at Goodfire Freeport is led by Chef Ben Christie, offering a wide range of high-quality cuisine options perfectly paired with their selection of more than 25 beer and wine options on tap.
